I don't know why South Koreans have started acting in such an arrogant way. Years ago, when circumstances took me to Canada, I had no problem making friends with South Koreans. But once their country took off and firmly placed itself on the same level as Japan, something in them switched. Their welcoming nature faded, and they became far more selective—geared heavily toward white people. They also turned into much more hardcore Christian fundamentalists.
The irony is that it was easier for me to make friends with the Japanese than with the South Koreans, without being interrogated about my social status and earnings.
I find lot of foreigners in the West who converted to Christianity tend to be quite hardcore Fundamentalists. Recently, I met a young Congolese Evangelical (yes, Evangelical, cant make this shit up) who was adamant Jews are the chosen people and tried to downplay the Belgian colonial domination of Congo (which was the most brutal of European' in Africa).

Someone already posted what I wanted to post, the dancing robots at the New Year's Gala!

To compensate, will post this article.

Happy Chinese New Year!

:D

Have to reply to my own post, because I wanted to post that robot gala video for Chinese New Year, but after posting it, saw it posted, so had to compensate with this article, but later I find that was posted already as well.

So a shout out to dingyibvs and JohnnyD for their efforts at keeping us informed and entertained.

To compensate, again, posting this.

It is okay.

This trend of "a very Chinese time in my life," is not a fad.

Some people think it is a fad, not me. And I do not really care about these trendy social things.

:D

Theres a lot of material benefits for converting. Its also a tight community that only lets you in if you're one of them and as a minority, you need as many friends in high places as possible.

The more I read/view about religion especially when looking at historical context, the more I realized its just a societal form of organization to make people in large numbers do things in a certain way. The whole lore behind it are just used to appeal to people who would otherwise get bored quickly. Through this lore however you can infer what they really mean in historical context such as why they don't eat certain food or why they need to do this certain ritual on a certain day. Sadly most people never bother to look at the why and it becomes forgotten.

Turkish wedding party receives Nvidia RTX 5090, RAM necklaces, and Intel CPU for elaborate wedding gifts — A Turkish tech delight for the age of PC shortages

Gold never tarnishes, diamonds are forever, and an RTX 5090 is probably going to be serviceable for about a decade if it doesn’t self-combust.

A charming video from a Turkish wedding reveals a delighted bride and groom being showered with opulent gifts, as per tradition. However, this happy couple isn’t seen being weighed down in gold and jewelry, as if typically the case, instead they are collecting the ultimate riches of the PC tech world –

kit, again lashed together using red ribbons. If the guy who presented these tech delights wasn’t the ‘best man’, he is now.

Another wedding guest steps to the fore and adds an Intel Core Ultra Unlocked processor to the groom’s gifts. The subtitles read “right now it’s a full computer set” (machine translation). So, we guess bulky items like the case,

Something old
Something GPU
Something borrowed
And something from team Blue

My step-sister married into a Turkish family. It was probably nearly 20 years ago, but I don’t remember her getting any computer tech gifts. The wedding did involve a lot of gold and AK47s, though.

We’ve recently reported on the value of both DRAM and

However, we note that while gold never tarnishes, diamonds are forever, cash is king, and happiness is a warm AK47 - an RTX 5090 is probably only going to be serviceable for about a decade, if it doesn’t

in the interim. Meanwhile, a large number of economists and tech watchers expect there to be a sharp correction in the AI-stoked RAM and NAND markets, in due course.

Struggling to mass produce a light 4th gen fighter that started design work in 1983. Decades away from a 5th gen fighter. But India is accelerating towards 6th gen air power.
Jai Hind!
Are they trying to kill us via laughter, these things need a proper plan, not dominance over the media. Really India holds itself back when their leader ship promotes mad nationalism instead of actual hard work and uniting the nation to do said hard work

This is what a populist paradise looks like: when everyone is only focused on the motivational rhetoric of "what will be achieved," rather than "how to achieve it," politicians and bureaucrats naturally won't bother to think about it. They only need to throw out an even bigger gimmick to attract attention next time.

Unfortunately, this mentality is spreading, from US MAGA to Japan JIBA. It's essentially the same mindset, just reversed – from knowing how to get by to not knowing how to do it, only able to boast about what they're going to do.

Lol, what is it with Koreans getting into beef with other Asians during the Winter Olympics? Last time it was with Chinese over a 朝鲜族 wearing Hanbok. Now apparently some Malaysians criticized some Korean girls over concert etiquette and one of those girls clapbacked by calling all SEA girls monkeys on X. Then the fun began.

What's in for the next Winter Olympics? Japan does something that pisses Koreans off so much, they'll willingly join China in a Japan contingency? Or maybe something involving NK?
It was South Koreans versus SEA at first.

Indians and Pakistan joined SEA when Koreans throwing shades at SEA being dirty brown skinned Indians/Pakistanis (whatt?!?). Brazilians joined SEA when Filipinos got bashed. Poland joined SEA when they used the wrong Indonesian flag to attack (opposite flipped). It became a BTS WW3.

Sensing a losing onslaught, the Koreans called upon alliance with Chinese and Japanese BTS fans to come their to side, position an East Asia vs. SEA/South Asia online race war.

Naturally, Chinese and Japanese BTS fans come to join SEA to relentlessly bash South Korea for their unmitigated racism. Imagine bringing together China and Japan at this time point. BTS country never stood a chance.
