Why would you expect China’s intelligence to be significant in the Middle East, a region China has not traditionally had a heavy footprint in?
Hi,
so is it not wise for China to start from somewhere in Middle East coz at some point china has to print
those foot prints in this region and Iran at the moment a country which can for the survival will welcome
China with open hands, other Middle Eastern countries already flourishing with USA labels from everywhere
thank you

You need actual logistical capacity in a geography to exercise military power in that geography.

Well then they need to start to have strong intelligence there, since its a very important region for China both for trade but also to keep US busy in those places.

I actually think China doesnt really have good foreign intelligence. I think they have very good domestic intelligence and counter intelligence, but they are very bad at foreign intelligence.

It might just be a lack of focus and lack of funding on foreign intelligence and influence ops, after all, China only got powerful not so long ago.

But they do need to step up soon if they want to keep growing as an economy. Cause US and CIA will keep trying to reduce China's influence and trade via nefarious means.

Whether China should or shouldn’t it’s irrelevant to the question of whether China has any means to significantly impact this *current* situation.

If that’s what they’ve been trying to do they haven’t had much to show for it.

I think thats the point that gloirebb is saying, putting a ELINT ship to shadow Lincoln CSG. Is not the first time that China to do it but it will be first in middle east and near a potential conflict.

It would be good for china to also pick up intelligence for themselves on how the CSG will work.

china don't have good enough foreign intelligence to know when the enemy will launch an attack, what the attack plans entails, and to completely compromise your enemy like what Israel did to iran.. China has satellite intelligence though.

How US found out about Vietnam's wary attitude towards US is incredible. US is able to pinpoint 2024 was the year that Vietnam had developed a defense plan about vietnam 2.0. China needs intelligence like that.

My point is that this isn’t the effector he’s trying to present it as being.

Since someone asked, I want to say, alright, China does have feasible means to prevent this war from breaking out, but the subsequent consequences would be unacceptable.
A DF-26B test launch aimed at a target in the Indian Ocean will remind everyone that US aircraft carriers are not absolutely safe in the Indian Ocean.
At the same time, a J-20 fighter brigade can be deployed to airbases in eastern Iran within a sufficiently short period, along with a small number of J-16D and KJ-500A support aircraft.
The reason this approach is considered unacceptable is that its impact on the international environment is too severe. Moreover, Iran is unable to guarantee that Chinese planes at the airport will not be attacked by Israeli agents with spike missiles.
