Anyone holding dear the Western definition of soft power where you think China should pursue… you should shut up now. If the US is the soft power king of the world, look at what Trump is doing with Greenland. He’s keeping it a mystery if he’s going to use force or not to take Greenland. He knows he doesn’t want to do that because that worst case scenario for him and the US geopolitically around the world. So what is he doing? He’s using threats and even trying to bribe Greenlanders into getting his way. That’s called coercion. And you think China giving something as simple as aid to another country isn’t soft power because that’s a form of coercion? This is why the Western definition of soft power is just a scam to get everyone else to think being liked (by the West) is so important. It doesn’t apply when the West looks to get what they want. It’s not important that the West use soft power when they can easily use their sheer raw power over others, because they can, to get what they want. They use threats of sanctions and the use of their military to get what they want. That’s called coercion.

When asked about the Kill Line, Bessent immediately confirms that it is true and blames it on Biden.
Alex never tried to argue kill line exist. When questioned his position is always you can believe whatever you want but here are some gruesome details I've encountered in my line of work recovering bodies, feel free to cross check them to see if they are real or not.
Whenever people look those up they find heaps of specific details that are wrong, but wrong in a way that proves the overall picture Alex is painting is infact true, like the famous "no Alex, slime monsters are not created by flushing acid solution down the sewer, they are in fact created by flushing caustic solution down the sewer and those react with human remains in the same process as creation of century eggs hence the translucent slime you saw". And Alex never shy away from the fact that he was a terrible student in his degree hence the need to bribe his professor in the first place that resulted in his unusual job.
Alex's argument was always America not only saw kill line as real, but accepted it as a necessary part of the running of the system and that's fucked up. Arguing kill line doesn't exist is missing his main point, his main point is even in a vacuum setting Americans have quietly accepted this type of hellish suffering is necessary to running of an ordered society and that's just not acceptable to Chinese sensibilities.
That's why Shenyi and state media liken this to a new kitchen debate. It's a deeper issue than just if something bad was happening, this is about if it's morally acceptable or not.

At the end of the day the fact that a hooliganism like Alex who spends more time bragging about his (likely fictional) sexcapades more than anti-US/capitalism propaganda gets this much attention from Chinese/US internet and eventually, major media outlets, is amusing to say the least.

I’ve seen some people claim that those who check the box to consent to organ donation will face a drastically higher risk of accidents, and if they get injured and fall into a coma, they might not receive active treatment either.
