Nvidia is obviously planning to dump chips.
That idiot seems to fail to understand that once bridges are burnt, it takes a very long time if ever to rebuild that bridge and by the time such a bridge is built again, all these idiots responsible for these screw ups will be long dead. Nvidia is finished sooner or later. I do wonder if the powers behind him are ok with his screw ups or if he has finally become a liability for them since I can’t imagine a pawn like Trump is their preferred if he is behaving this irrationally. Before anyone claims this is within expectations As per Brian Belietic, the one fatal flaw to this reprioritising of targets is the assumption that the USA has the money and stockpiles and manufacturing to make it all happen such a short period, which I can positively say is impossible given how nothing indicates that the USA has any of those of things ready (I mean just look at all the incidents of this year alone of their equipment falling apart at the seems and for heavens sake, at the fact they are trying to hide the jobs loses…. If they are doing good right now, why hide that information)

Technical aspects aside, it's interesting that Trump in his business man fashion is the one president who makes these executive decisions and can swing the entire country in one direction or the other. He started the trade war in his first term, escalated it this year and now also leading the de-escalation. Biden in comparison didn't nearly make as many big decision, merely following Trump's trade war and continuing the Afghan withdraw.

Weather or not his decisions are actually good for US, he's showing leadership qualities.
You know what is the best way to murder a tech/science company? Install a CEO and management tier who have business degrees but absolutely no expertise in science/tech. They will run it into the ground like a bull in a China shop and they will do it with confidence brushing aside all of the actual experts as dorks with tunnel vision. That is 100% Trump trying to run the US tech interface with China.

Could we restart the demographics thread? Like I don't understand why demographics are a banned topic on this forum just because the picture it paints isn't particularly favorable. It's going to come up again & again as time goes on because it is relevant to everything from economics, geopolitics, to technology & grand strategy; it does a disfavor to the forum to not have any place to discuss it.

The mods didn’t lock it down because it hurts someone feelings. They locked it down because it always devolves into an 5000 page flame war that always goes nowhere. This isn’t the first or last time that threads have been locked down because it went off the rails. As for “it does a disfavor to the forum.” If I recall some time ago that the core mods basically told everyone that if we don’t clamp down on being retarded. They have the ability to lock down every thread that is non-defense related.

Japan is not a colony of US. If they wanted, they could kick out US forces imediately, just like how Philippines kicked them out in the 90s. Its just they are too western worshipping and too afraid of China. They think US is their savior when it comes to China.

Pretty much every US ally whether its Europe, Japan, Korea or even Australia are most enthusiastic about US being there than US itself, which kinda wants to get out.

Australia's most independent leader, Gough Whitlam, was definitely soft-couped by CIA when he wanted to close down the biggest US base in the southern hemisphere:

Australia's most recent attempt to have an independent leader, Kevin Rudd, was also most likely soft-couped for wanting closer ties with China and Asia:

Any leader of any US "ally" that shows a modicum of independence, let alone expelling troops, will get pressured, sanctioned, blockaded couped, assassinated and/or invaded.

In 2012, Japan and China began to do direct currency trading, bypassing the US dollar during one the tiny periods of time the US-puppets of the LDP weren't in power. A few months later, Japan's Finance Minister commits suicide (on Suicide Prevention Day, no less) and a day later, Japan's new ambassador to China suddenly dies right before taking his post in Beijing. Then the Japanese government makes moves on Senkaku/Daioyu, spurring Hong Kong/Taiwan "activist protestors" and the LDP come back into power.

Since then China and Japan have had no bilateral currency swap agreement.

If you can't see US influence in every "ally," then I question the depth of your analysis.
