Satellite view of Yulin Naval Base, photographed yesterday (22 November). CV-17 Shandong and CV-18 Fujian are moored at the larger pier, with the expansion of the smaller piers underway at the top of the photo. Posted by @foolsball on Twitter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I wonder how accurate it is for Fujian to come to port immediately after the training? Shouldn't they undergo training at sea that lasts a few months?

Yes, Fujian is at port right now. Refer my post just above.

Shouldn't they undergo training at sea that lasts a few months?

Says who?

They can train for as long as their fuel, forage and supplies are available, or as short as they see fit. There are no rules on the duration of which they must conduct trainings at sea.

I had a co-worker who once served in the US navy.
I joked with him and said, "Do you know why the US navy only does 6 month deployments? It's so sailors have a chance to return home and check up on their wives to ensure they didn't get pregnant with another man."

My co-worker replied with a serious look on his face, "That's not a joke. That's for real. I got stories to tell."
I think the PLA navy will also adopt this routine......6 months will become the standard. *grin*

Time deployed is the most common killer of the military as career choice across services. It affects army too, though navy is the traditional benchmark in this regard. Its hardly just about who someones wife chooses to copulate with. But people understandably ask what the point of having a family is when a part of the family is "never" around, while your kids grow up etc. People are social animals, so any activity messing with that goes up against dynamics we've been following for hundreds of thousands of years.
