Quite unlikely, it literally says “新口径步枪” (new caliber rifle). And it’s no secret that China has been experimenting with a 6.8x50mm tungsten carbide AP round. Maybe it will be suitable DMR given the barrel length.

I solely believe that the PLA will use QBU191 as a future reference for what their Next version of the 191 will be, considering it boasts impressive accuracy and low recoil, it seems that they will invest more expensive resources on Marksman Long - Mid range instead of Close Range encounters.

Out of all of the 191's the designated marksman rifle QBU hit the jackpot the most.
