Probably because there are not many photo or video of Y20B landning available to public. Eventually we will have it. especially if a full landing video becomes available. Most likely they use cascade type thrust reverser commonly found on high bypass engines.

Ram air turbine also deployed

Another close-up of RAT in low fly-by. This may be the first RAT I've seen so distant from the fuselage.

Edit:
Now I cant tell if this is a RAT or an arming vane of a munition.

Since the recent posts seems to be concentrated on Y-20, I'll go for a change and ask about Y-9's replacement.

How's the news on Y-30? Shaanxi have been doing the radio silence thing for quite a long time, and now we already have AEP500/WJ10 turboprop for the powerplant, so what else is Shaanxi waiting for? I'd bet the PLAAF is pretty eager to replace their Y-8/9 transports, just so they don't have to fly the Y-20 everywhere.

I heard Y-30 can possibly be a C-390 instead

Wouldn't that make it more prone to FOD?

I thought the reason the first model was with 4 turboprops because it's designed to be a tactical airlifter, so it most likely will need to be grass/unprepared field landing qualified. Those tends to have more debris around, and the compressors in general hated the extra debris, so turboprop with smaller compressor for power generated is preferred.

The argument against that is that the airforce wanted something fast. I suppose it could use propfans like An-70 but that'll probably mean we won't be seeing it within the next 1-2 years.
