FO3 was better than New Vegas. I guess we're never going to see TES6. :(
You're part of the Fallout 3 side, huh? What makes it better for you? Personally, I'm in the "New Vegas was the best Fallout" school of thought.

TES6 is most likely going to be released either in 2027 or 2028, depending on whether they need more time like they did for Starfield. The Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters are not being made by bethesda but by a third-party studio. They will not affect TES6 or even Fallout 5's release window.

So the timeline so far is:
2027-2028 - TES6 & Fallout 3 Remaster
2029 - Fallout New Vegas Remaster
2031-2033 - Fallout 5

New Vegas has better writing, more freedom to role play and actions have actual consequences, and improved gunplay but Fallout 3 has superior atmosphere and a livelier world with stuff going on.

One of the things I don't like in bethesda's fallout is that it feels like the average and regular folks never tried outside of the bare minimum to rebuild or form a society. They are always living in the dirtiest and disgusting places they call a community. This was also in fallout 4 and 76.

In new vegas, the beginning town good springs looks like a proper town. It has farms, fixed and functional houses, and even a decent-looking store.

I hope for fallout 5, society has actually formed up a bit like a real human society should.

FONV is the real successor of FO1 and 2, but I was never into them. FO3 was the first post apocalyptic immersive game, and it really made it feel like you were living in a post apocalyptic world.

The Capital Wasteland was overrun by Super Mutants and had a chronic shortage of clean water. The Lyons Brotherhood was fighting a losing war against the Super Mutants until the Lone Wanderer showed up. It's not that people didn't want to rebuild, it's the fact that everytime somebody builds something, something else comes along to tear it down.
