I have no idea where this sense of European arrogance comes from.
Even most Europeans online nowadays agree that they are ants compared to China. Yeah perhaps, although it hurts my pride to say so, China is still developing and getting its urban aesthetics figured out, so few if any Chinese cities can claim to be as beautiful as Prague and Dresden.
But in terms geopolitics, technology, economics, even cultural exports outside of handbags, the EU literally has no leg to stand on against China. It's currently squeezed by the US and the Russians, with China being somewhat open to working with them. And yet they still insist on playing hard ball. No retort necessary, other than fine its your guys' funeral.
