PLAN 6th gen carrierborne fighter thread

Well, recall how long it took from FC-31, through FC-31V2 to eventually the J-35 prototype. I recall back in 2012 or so one of the first artworks of FC-31 was carrier based. This is not to say that a similar time could or should ellapse until the J-50H prototype, that was a mistake as i pointed with other occasions, hopefully the great delay/diddle-dwaddle in the case of J-35 won't be repeated, but there might be a few years until a J-50H could fly. Ideally several prototypes or even LRIP should be timed with the commissioning of the 004 CVN.
completely different circumstances back then.. so Naval J-XD won't take much time just like J-35.

Wait until F-47 is finally revealed, make a navalized copy of it, call it J-47. Voila!
I have a hunch that a carrier borne next gen aircraft would bear the code J-X5 of some sort. Given the commonality between J-15 and J-35.

Considering the news coming from US about F/A-XX, should be full speed ahead for either J-50H or a bespoke design if they went that way. I hope the PLAN 6th gen fighter effort never slackened in the first place, so it could steal a march on the americans just like PLAAF did. Ideally should be made ready for 004 like i said before.

they just got their 5th gen aircraft launching from the carrier. What is exactly the rush?

Well, imo same rush that resulted in the PLAAF 6th gens flying years before the american ones. Whatever the strategic reasoning for PLAAF was, it applies exactly the same for PLANAF, quality over quantity being one of those factors probably. It's not like the J-35 will be displaced too early, we are looking at probably almost a decade of sustained production until J-50H(?) should be ready for sustained production itself. But even for this pretty conservative timeline they need to step on the gas now.
