The launch basin at Changxin shipyard was filled on 27th of August likely for a pending launch.
And what makes said ship the last ever 052D/DG DDG to be built?

Given the lack of more reliable information and indication pointing towards the PLAN concluding their procurement of the 052D-class at the 38th unit so far, I don't see how the the last known 052D should be equal to the last ever 052D to be built. Who knows if there are still new hull modules for subsequent 052D DDGs that are yet to be photographed in the public domain?
Pla usually launches older gen ships while atleast one sample of the new gen is already commissioned and in service. So, I expect the same with 052D. They will keep producing 052D until the new gen is well established.I agree, likely the latest, but we don't know whether it is the "last" ... unless @Tomboy know something that I/we don't
More powerful missiles at the cost of carrying fewer? I'm not sure. Quantity matters too.It has less VLS but the VLS are significantly bigger, UVLS has 2x the volume of Mark 41

Can 052D DDG carry the same type of missile as the 055 DDG? I mean, we have seen that the 055 has already tested the YJ-20 hypersonic missile, so is there any possibility that the 052D destroyer can carry the same type of missile?
Limitation is fitting lower efficiency anti-ship weapons(supersonic, hypersonic) with acceptable range into mk.41.More powerful missiles at the cost of carrying fewer? I'm not sure. Quantity matters too.
