USAF mechanics replacing hydraulic fluid with water, causing the hydraulic system to fail and ultimately resulting in the F-35 crash. Reminded me of Soviet ground crews drinking coolant fluids because it contained alcohol. US is really late USSR.
Wait .here I thought only those evil ,utterly corrupy ,slanty-eyed,CCP PLARF missile crews are the only ones filling their missiles with water ,surely not those angelic, utterly moral, blond hair blue-eyed Captain America types in the USAF would replace hydraulic fluid with water?BTW what does one do with the very expensive hydraulic fluid from an F35?use it in your car? Wait, just reread post-so these idiots are drinking this hydraulic/fluid coolant -do these geniuses realize it is NOT moonshine and contains very toxic ingredients aside from alcohol-might even be methyl not ethyl alcohol.

Hydraulic fluid is usually an oil isn't it? But I don't think its the sort of oil you can steal and use for fuel or anything like that.

Chahuahui crew was talking about it last night and they reckon it's probably result of ground crew taking short cuts, like leaving the container that holds hydraulic oil open instead of sealing after each use that caused water to leak in.

1/3 water and 2/3 oil is a lot of water to be fair.

iinm, the US carved Panama out of Colombia in order to control the Panama Canal, kinda similar to how UK carved Diego Garcia out of Mauritius for a military base, or how UK cut Israel out of Palestine.

After separating, the Frenchman, who was leading the Panama rebellion, gave control of the land around the canal to US for 85 years which ended in 1988.

The US sees the canal (and probably Panama itself) as it's own invention.
Its German Bismark and Ottomans. UK was declining power by time Israel borders created. They know history and has sophisticated approaches to countries like Turkey.

Unless they left the container open out in the rain, it shouldn't be a problem. That's the only way 1/3 of it could be filled with water but protocol would definitly have them left closed in a temperature controlled room. So between putting water in purposefully and leaving the containers open and outside during a rainstorm, I don't know which is dumber.

It should be oil or DOT fluid depending on the system. In the world of bicycles, Shimano and Campagnolo (and all Chinese companies) use mineral oil while American SRAM uses DOT fluid. If a bike mechanic accidentally used the wrong type of fluid for the system, he is considered irredeemably stupid and fired. I've never even heard of any mechanic subbing out for water LOL
