Who is "they". Do you mean the PLA?

Of course the PLA will not release that sort of information.
If anyone wants to include a PLA aircraft in a video game like DCS (and yes, despite its valiant attempts to be "realistic" it is ultimately just a videogame) they will just have to give it their best estimate, in the same way that all other aircraft in DCS are just their best estimates.

The best way to approach something like DCS is that it has no significant bearing or implication on real world aircraft performance, so therefore who cares if they want to include a PLA aircraft?
I think you answered my question, thanks.

Was curious since developers are often required to have SMEs like pilots, mechanics or performance charts of an aircraft for it to be accepted for the game, so wondered if anything like this would be possible for say, a J-10. Predictably a no go for any "modern" Chinese type.

Isnt JF17 got accepted via PAF? Maybe J-10ce someday

When did China officially claim that J-20S is 5.5?
The term 5.5-gen appears to be a label used by analysts or media rather than an official classification. (X-post link below/ twz story from the day prior to this post July 8)

The term "5.5-gen" remains an analytical construct.

My initial inquiry 5.5 vs 6-gen was motivated from the fact that manufacturers avoid "half-gen" terms to prevent cannibalizing next-gen launches. And does this latest iteration of J-20S make the 6th gen look like an overshoot?

Nope, certainly not. There are defining features and capabilities on the J-36 and J-XDS which qualify them as "true-blooded 6th-gen manned warplanes" that aren't found (or at the very least, organic to) the J-20S/AS.

If anything, it can be said that the J-20S/AS also serves as X-plane of some type (i.e. technological demonstration/verification platform) as part of China's next/6th-generation aerial warfare development effort.

Just curious:
Why do so many nations, including China, choose to model their multi-role stealth fighters based off the F-22 and F-35 instead of the B-2, F-117 and the like which are considerably as stealthy?

Because B-2 and F-117 are dedicated strike platforms and make unacceptable aerodynamic sacrifices for fighter? What kind of question is this?

That, nor is the J-35/A (which is the only multirole fighter in PLA service) based on the F-22/35.

Question how advanced is China stealth coating for the j20 and j35 and how does it compare to usa f35 or yall dont know or give me a hypothetical
It's impossible to know.

What is known, however, is that China has attained a dominant international position in materials science. We can thus infer that China is unlikely to be far behind the U.S. as pertains to stealth coatings, and perhaps even ahead.
