??? NGAD was not cancelled it was put on hold for the final selection until the Trump administration revived it and announced Boeing's NGAD proposal as the winner hence naturally ending the program. That's like saying the ATF or JSF program was cancelled because F-22 and F-35 respectively was selected by the end of the program.September 2024. Since then replaced by the F-47 program under Boeing.
AESA are not created equal. US uses lots of GaAs-based radars. China has GaN-based radars for sales back in 2014:tech level =/= construction numbers, China can have all the required technology but starting late they can theres only so much they could do about it. Also Chinese ships used AESA starting with 052Cs in the 2000s while the US did not field theirs still much later.
Yeah Fujian definitely will be commissioned this year, not sure why they're guessing September though. Also, there were two 054b frigate earlier this yearI feel like it’s pretty accurate, we know for a fact that the 003 will be commissioned sometime this year as reported by Chinese state TV
NGAD did not "first fly" in 2020. They flew tech demonstrators. Tech demonstrators' ≠ prototypes. China was flying tech demonstrators as well as far back as 2019. F-47 hasn't flown yet and F/A-XX at this point in time looks dead.I might watch it after 9/3 but i usually like to watch things live.
To answer your edited part I access it on how long the US has had it if they are still using it and so on. It’s a rough estimate I have collected from other sources and some of my own it’s not supposed be taken as a fact. But more so my point was China leads in some military areas and in par in some areas but the US also leads in some areas too. Also about the Chinese 6th gen program when did it first fly? Since we the US NGAD program first flew in 2020 but has since been delayed again
Okay, not cancelled. Paused and resumed with a redefined set of requirements. Either way, no iteration of NGAD/F-47 has actually been flown.??? Does anybody have a summary/idea of China's future carriers 004 and 005?
wow that is a very bad news, another conventional carrier using emals is just not sufficient or capable enough imoYou can read about it here, in the 00X/004 carrier thread.
