This is mainly from the Iran Israel thread but I thought I would post it here coz the implications are quite big globally

Expect spiking oil prices and the markets to bleed hard. Whats worse is it may not be a short term thing.

I think that will not happen.

Most of that oil from the gulf goes to Asia. Iran is fighting Israel mostly.

Also, last thing MAGA supporters want is higher gasoline prices.

President Trump will declare, something something something, then MAGA movement will move on to other things as Israel is not the top priority.

That's it.

Oh, okay, I forget, as I did check the market tonight, when the surprise attack happened, a week ago, oil jumped $5 bucks, but no such action today this late night, oil is flat, not much going on.

You can have both things. The issue is the Applefication of car maintenance, where manufacturers make it impossible to repair so they can force you to go the shop.

Yeah, exactly. Agree completely. I-ran has very few choices here.

They are weak, defenseless against air strikes, and got no friends with big guns.

What the heck were they doing or thinking?

Who knows.

Look at what Vietnam did recently.

They signed the massive economic deal with China, building high speed rail as the center point, and just piled on more and more deals with the Chinese.

That was the month before, as the next month Trump tariffs came with Liberation Day, and they got Navarro to tell the Vietnamese to get lost. The Vietnamese were the first ones through that door, hoping to make a deal with the man who says everyone is calling him to kiss his ass. They came, and were told to get lost.

The Vietnamese did a smart thing. They inverted Plan A and Plan B. They will be alright.

What did the leadership of Iran do? That is unbelievable.

They manage to isolate themselves like this.
