People with good reason are suspecting Iran wants to back away at the last minute and beg for a peace summit instead. 'Holding back missiles' is just a diplomatic play instead of any real commitment.

It's the way Iran has been conducting itself for the last few years. Everything they've built is for diplomatic leverage, except they're much worse at it than Kim.

They were conducting themselves as such back when exchanges were still tit for tat, with both sides interested in an off-ramp. The war is now existential, at least the Israelis saw it that way and now they've made it so for the Iranians as well.

To be fair, Kim had it easier since they are China's neighbor. The proximity really plays a big part here. All he needs to do is just to be in good terms with china

Uh, Kim is also in charge of a country that already has nukes.

Is Israel send soldiers there is big chance that those soldiers will end being dragged in the street of Tehran, which will be a heavy blow to Israel.

All of these setback wouldn't have happen if the Iranians just completely subsumed the entirety of the Army into the IRGC really.

Really much of the Quislings came from the overall army background or possibly even the top commanders themselves.
