This real? Niger requiring all CN personnels on Oil facilities there to leave by May31, (maybe some technicians will stay?) or else they will do "enforcement"? Why r they targeting CN investment there? Curious did Niger do similar to other investments there?
Niger borrowed couple handred million dollars from CN after the coup, can't pay back, wants more.
I mean, it's really an American reading comprehension problem that they read this as meaning cancelling China's global export control measures to protect national security not targeted at any party in particular.
What can CN do there tho? Kinda different from BurkinaFaso

I wouldn't be surprised if the American negotiators thought that they were negotiating something that wasn't on the agenda. It should have been obvious to anyone paying attention that if the US didn't pull back on something big like the semiconductor sanction, there was no way that China would start selling critical materials again. They are a trivial in terms of monetary value but they're are absolutely devastating to both the American military and high-tech industries.
