Deng once said about a cat, "it doesn't matter whether it's black or white, it's a good cat if it catches mice" so what is less ugly mean to you? In my opinion it's rather beautiful!!!
Oh don't get me wrong. I found the 'fake' one mesmerizing too. Was just poking around to lighten the mood lol

Yeah I mean if anything that's even more evidence that the photo is fake. J-36 is in development stage, it's modules aren't even complete yet. It doesn't really make sense to transfer it anywhere right now.
How can you be so sure?

Am I mistaken in thinking this is evidence to the contrary? Just thinking why someone would spoof the metadata specifically to make it look like the J-36 is in a more advanced testing stage. Surely this makes it less likely to be a hoax, since the set of people capable of creating it just got reduced. We would need, in addition to someone who has reason to fake the image, someone who is also knowledgeable enough to spoof the Yanliang geolocation.

What's more, I've seen lots of mention here and elsewhere that the background in the photo doesn't look anything like Chengdu, or at least not anywhere near the CAC facility. The new location would explain that. Honestly, I have also been wondering why we've seen so little of the J-36 since the "Chengdu" photo from a month ago. There have been whole videos of the J-50 in the meantime. I was even entertaining the idea that there was some unexpected problem they found and were working through, or maybe the authorities really decided to crack down on J-36 leaks after the wave of high-quality footage.

But this new development would totally explain that too. So that would be two anomalies explained by a third.

If this is a hoax, it is certainly strange that someone would be knowledgeable enough to spoof the location of the testing facility, but not take the care to at least make their 3D look as accurate as others have already done.

This is completely out-there speculation on my part, but given how long it's been since we've seen her, this might even be a slightly different J-36 airframe. Absolutely no evidence for this, just spitballing. The bort number is not visible enough to confirm.

It would be interesting to 1. geolocate exactly where photo was taken and verify the surroundings like was previously done for footage of the flyover and 2. to do more careful photogrammetry to see if the apparent anomalies in the photo can be explained by a combination of perspective, lighting, and blur.

Yes, but what makes it even stranger: why does someone take a video of Xi'an and make a fake with a CG J-36?

There's also something I've been wanting to ask: has anyone compiled an index of all the footage of the J-36 we have so far? This would be quite useful for the photogrammetry.
