To add to this, all the secret sauce is in the software, the energy management, guidance algorithms, counter EW packages and so on. Having the TRM plate isn't a big deal at all. It's unlikely that this is a big issue IMO, AESA seekers on missile have been standard ever since the 2010s. This is an export variant with potentially a worse seeker(since it's not designed to be shot as far as domestic PL-15s). Also if you look closely that is legit just a mounting plate with no TRMs attached, the good stuff is inside the TRMs and it looks like they've all been burned/destroyed. Not to mention Cute Orca confirmed that PL-16 is in service which should prove a step up from PL-15 in all ways including seeker.
tl;dr PL-15E likely is the downgraded version of an obsolete Chinese missile
Any useful info about it is probably burnt, just like that radar. Even when America gets an entire plane, it doesn't really change much. But also I expect China not to give Pakistan the best of the best stuff, considering some Paki commanders might be willing to give an intact missile to CIA for a price.
Will this be a problem guys?? Although trading a radar for a few Rafales seems like a good deal
PL-15's AESA advantage comes from economy of scale production, not from esoteric tech.Do you guys think that India/US can learn alot of info/secrets from PL-15 remnants?
Just realized that Deino might be fighting on twitter astride his cyber J-10C right now. God Speed Deino!
Even these days DJI Agricultural drones have AESA radarDo you guys think that India/US can learn alot of info/secrets from PL-15 remnants?
