I doubt it. It's russian old gen radar compared to aesa in jf-17 and j-10c. Pakistan even has f-16. Moreover, Pakistan has far better missiles with the pl-15, pl-12 and amraam. India's mki only operate Russian poorly made r-77, which is still not a good missile yet and much lower range.

Flanker is a great air platform but only with Chinese manufacturing, avionics and missiles. Russian Flankers are terrible in modern war scenarios

Yeah, exactly.

Once the tariffs went over 100%, with both sides, then there was another big issue that could have prevented a war in the straits was gone just like that.

Does not mean there will be a war, people on the island understand such dynamics and are more sensitive to them than anyone else.

Japan rise is not due to free trade or democracy. when those decisions were taken that led to rise of Japan the threat perception was very different. there were not that many people from Global South in Europe or Arab wealth stored in Europe.
Gulf Monarchies want countries perform inside this system as it is much easy to manage things and multiply wealth for them. Japan need to contribute as country is in decline by Arab standards. EU is not going to give any industrial share in Airbus like Boeing gave to Japan or Europeans or allowing Japanese plants on scale in US for Toyota/Honda and EU will screw Japan very badly once it knows Japan does not have US backing. Just few weeks after UAE tie up with Ethiopians Boeing opened Ethiopian office. These people understand to maintain balance.

I think a lot of Americans, and non Americans for that matter, are still struggling to process the reality that America is and has always been at China's industrial mercy, they dont yet have time to process the implications this has on America's ability to fight a hot war over Taiwan, both economically and militarily.

Give it a few more month and people will start to ask the question, until the day Taiwan is given their final choice.

Personally I prefer Taiwan choose fighting.

As if Sharpton can do anything about it. Folks can talk down on DEI all they want but America doesn't have a culture of meritocracy, it's either a form of affirmative action to make things a bit fair or it's just full on white supremacy, no in between.

Now traditional anti-China Democrats are coming out to criticize Trump’s tariffs that they were for before Trump even became President. They’re claiming they’re for targeted tariffs not the broad tariffs Trump is doing. You mean like how the same broad tariffs wouldn’t be happening when they called for removing China from most favored nation trade status? Their ultimate goal was to end trade with China. Oh yeah that would not have put US businesses dependent on Chinese supply chains in the same situation Trump has put them in now?

They’re guilty still of trying to blame China and not themselves for how the American worker loss their jobs to outsourcing. They didn’t do anything to prevent it from happening because they were beholden to big business first and not the American worker.

I saw former anti-China Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown blaming American corporations for the loss of US jobs. Maybe he should’ve done that from the start instead of blaming it on China. He’s demanding that the American worker be included in any trade talks. Still out of touch with reality because the only jobs that are of value where only Americans workers would be involved are in advanced tech but the US has banned those sales to China. Very few can buy so it won’t be like selling pancakes. All other jobs that produce products, Chinese can make themselves or can get somewhere else cheaper than from the US.

There are no good Democrats and Republicans in the world to the Chinese. They’re both bad. That’s why the Democrats should not come out of this unscathed just because it’s Trump in office. That’s what they’re counting on now trying to hide that they wanted the same thing before Trump blew the lid off the truth on the US’s face. What’s flashing red for Trump now where as they say Trump is chickening out is all about China. He paused tariffs on everyone else so this is just about what damaged to the US is going to happen by excluding China. They’ll think if only Nixon didn’t go to China… and they would’ve been nuked by the Soviet Union by now. If only the US didn’t outsource jobs to China… and the US wouldn’t have gotten richer exploiting cheap labor so US corporations can make more money than with American labor. The US and the West would’ve long before now faced their sunset in the world because China already had developed nukes before Nixon went to China and they would’ve gotten nuked hence why couldn’t go back to the way things were before the Cold War.

Long term strategy to keep Chinese surroundings unstable. First, Russia, then we've had terrorists hitting Belt and Road in Pakistan and soft targets like civilians (PK and CN) using advanced NATO weapons.

China is exceptionally nice to India, probably because its too small a fish (right now) ignoring that India is already actively engaged in a proxy warfare against Chinese interests.

I think its a major strategic white space not replying to India in kind.
