I was responding to person who writes about long term demographic trajectory whether he knows about ASEAN as he mentioned coordinating Global South in response to US. Demography is function of many things. I already wrote some about Japan so not want to enter again. this info is all based on my reading of Soft Power.
these people release info in round about way and often inaccuracies but intended meaning easy to understand with experience in Soft Power. like Indians are largest Gold buyers historically but interms of gold strength of a country they put India midpack and never mentioned there own wealth and hardly paid attention to ASEAN.

There is no infrastructure in India or even investment plans for this level of manufacturing. That makes manufacturing challenging already. Also at the deficit increase so will these stooges tariffs because they want Apple making in the US not India or China for that matter. Services is probably get be targeted and that is area face challenges with the rise of AI. buckle up, is going get hard.

EU total energy imports is $412 billion dollars and the US already makes up 16% of oil and 45% of LNG of EU imports. Trump is demanding the EU to buy more energy then they can actually use lol.

And remember China had to buy $200 billion in US agriculture for supposed tariff relief from the phase one deal... So it was never really about unfair tariffs in the first place. It's just an avenue to get something else.

Vietnam is the most anti-China on Earth. I guarantee you that. They just want Chinese FDI, and not in a single minute they don't want China to collapse to the 十六国 period. Every single failures of Vietname is blamed on China. The Vietnamese even cheered on Trump tarrif because now they can "get rid off" the Chinese influence. To the Vietnamese, the Chinese is some sub-human creature.

you understood it wrongly what i wrote. I said there is now way this Global south can deal with West when Soft Power is inside West and due to that ASEAN can be into divided two blocks. One have access to Soft power that is already residing in West and other not. The one that lacks it will unwittingly become part of West even if they not want.
I cannot blame you not understanding it even people like this Thomas L Friedman who is or was among the longest running Mideast correspondent but unable to understand the Soft Power despite given opportunity to meet almost all the Royals of Arabia for unlimited time. so Friedman is now writing about things that are outside his expertise. This new generation of Royals are too wealthy and intelligent. The region is the Global Wealth Center and they drive the direction of scientific innovation of what is important for them and that will be sustainable long term.
