Holy smokes. That cockpit canopy looks as if it is a literal part of the airframe fuselage itself. Kinda somewhat akin to LockMart's single-engine NGAD illustration back then.

Americans said the J-36 was too big to be a fighter jet. Now there's a smaller one. I am wondering what else they have to say.
China is making sci-fi real in front of our eyes!
We only know that it's progress is roughly parallel to the J-36 also, and is undergoing high speed high altitude flight tests.
Remember guys, If it looks good, it flies good.
As a Chengdu fanboy, I admit that from this angle, the SHADE looks a lot more futuristic than the J-36.
