Not really, it's true that the truly asset-less actually does get taken care of in the case of emergencies. There are two major issues with this, however. One, many of these emergencies are the result of neglected chronic illness such as hypertension or diabetes. When you only address an emergency but not the chronic illness, these patients become what the hospitals refer to as "frequent fliers", repeatedly costing the hospital/government enormous resources to address emergencies when they could've been avoided with just some family doc visits and cheap generic drugs.

Second is that if you do have SOME asset, you're actually shit-outta-luck. You need to go bankrupt to get this kind of payment. This is what the hospitals refer to as "spend down", i.e. liquidate all your assets and pay basically everything you own to the healthcare system, and then perhaps you can qualify for something like Medicaid. This is really tough to see, as many are hardworking Americans who've worked their whole life and paid their taxes, and now they need to go bankrupt or reach a certain age before they can get safety net insurance. Many aren't willing to do that, so they end up choosing to receive poorer care than the poorest and sacrifice their health to avoid the shame of bankruptcy.

Ok, first of all, it's great that people want to come and visit China; however, unless they are involved in materials science/industrial research and cutting edge mil/tech, i dont think they should be allowed any long term residential visa; at best, they can have a 3 month Schengen type visa if their country has good relations with China for eg Serbia but they should not be taking jobs that should be going to Chinese people. In order of preference, it should be PRC citizens which includes SAR citizens like HK and Macau and Taiwan Compatriots, then foreign wives of Chinese men (notice i specifically said foreign wives and women?).

I think its partially correct. They can't technically refuse you for like a life threatening emergency like if you got shot, having a heart attack, or got into an life threaten accident. They wont treat you for like cancer or some other disease. Also the treatment is only good while you are in the hospital. Like if you need a prescription of antibiotics for your broken arm outside of the hospital, the pharmacy won't give it to you unless you pay. It only works if you are really poor , don't care about your credit history, don't have much assets, don't make enough that a judge would force you to pay from your wages etc.

This really isn't a flex at all. If you do this dine and dash just once, your social credit will immediately tank to nothing and you're as good as homeless/assetless.
