It seems logical why Macron is trying to lean towards Asia and Eurasia and attempting to join BRICS, and Why Russia and China are favouring maintaining high level political contact with France. France is about the only EU country that is not occupied by the US, is a nuclear power, is militarily stronger than other EU puppets, and has access to multiple seas. Who knows, maybe in the near future France will make serious commitments, let go of its colonial past, and join BRICS.
If France joins BRICS then consider BRICS dead. France is not a developing country, I don't see the point of it joining.

Chinese retaliation could reportedly extend to dairy products and Airbus as well. Smart
Europeans and especially the French should have learnt from the CAI fiasco, where back in 2021 the europeans thought they could still get their CAI deal and spit in China's face with sanctions to curry favour with the americans. China's COMAC means Airbus exists in China at the pleasure of the CPC.

What exactly happens if a BRICS country becomes a developed country? Do they get kicked out upon achieving that status? Also is Russia even considered a developing country? Why bar countries that actually want to collaborate when India is a member that is blatantly sabotaging the group?

Have any of you see seen Xi hug another world leader? Let alone initiating that hug?

I'm not sure if what that poster says is true but I never seen Xi initiate a hug before ? Or I never looked closely enough.
I've seen Xi Jinping initiate hugs with Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong

More hugs:

And I've seen him hug North Korea's Kim Jong before too, but video is deleted.

Also, Western new reaction is jealousy:

Reuters: Hugs but did their tongues touch?

A bit off topic but I just got my hands on the Huawei Pura 70 series and I think it's a genuinely competitive product

It actually has an air around it that makes it feel more premium even compared to iPhones. The UI is just as smooth vs other Androids though it definitely has a different feel. Once you get your hands on the phone you totally forget that it's technically a slower processor.

Before this I actually thought Xiaomi, Oppo, Oneplus were starting to become premium. But once you feel the Pura 70 in your hand, you just know there is no comparison. Huawei truly is still the king of premium phones.

No, they are grandfathered in. France is a member of G7, G20, OECD, etc. Can Nigeria, for example, just decide to join these groups? What does France need BRICS for? They are influential in global affairs already, BRICS is for developing countries to push their interests. Today you let in France, tomorrow Sweden will want to join and before you know it the US would have infiltrated it and then you'll have BRICS members forcing others to to comply to western interests. No thanks. If France wants to develop and strengthen bilateral ties then fine, otherwise let's keep BRICS for strictly for developing countries.
