Yep, the strategy of "Keep ASML in, SMEE down, Russians out", just like the of keep US in, Germany down, Russia out....all the while making it appear US is a benevolent hegemon doing China a "nice favor". To US domestic audience, it would be portrayed as keep the dumbass Chinese dependent/addicted on Western technology fentanyl, keep significant US profits/jobs, and more money for US R&D to continue US technology leadership (from Raimondo horse face herself)
Instead, China is the largest semiconductor market in the world, so the negotiation power is with China, not with US. China should: "keep Huawei in (the game), TSMC down, and Micron completely out"
All the more reason for China to keep jacking up the rate of pumping out more high seas-capable (HSC from now on for ease of typing) warships into the coming years and decades.
(For note: In this post, HSC warships refers to the AEGIS-type destroyers (052C, 052D, 055) and modern-type frigates (054A) in the PLAN.)
Right now, China has 79x HSC destroyers and frigates in active service with the PLAN.
(For reference, the USN has 87x HSC cruisers and destroyers at present).
Based on whatever information that we can get our hands on so far - By 2027/2028, there should be ~100x HSC destroyers and frigates in the PLAN.
In the meantime, I think China should seriously consider procuring of surface combatants that are generally light-displacement, cheap-to-produce, easy-to-operate-&-maintain, and somewhat expendable, which can be deployed for convoy-escort and ASW duties, i.e. similar to the destroyer escorts (DDE) utilized by the Allied navies during WW2. Have these warships build by civilian shipyards across China, and China should be able to pump out hundreds of them pretty quickly, especially in times of extreme tension and war.

Now, all that rupees that India paid to Russia is pilling up. Because Russia don't know what to buy from India apart from agriculture produce and the ocassional IT services. But those rupees that Russia rightfully owns is stuck in Indian banks, because India doesn't allow for large amounts of rupees to exit its borders. What a mess. Looks not much different from the situation of Russian Euros stuck in European accounts. Russia bought into the hype of the India Superpowa economy and is now paying a rupee-denominated price.
