The Phillipines you don't see:
Fried chicken is so popular that the Philippines even have its own fried chicken brand. It’s also a dream food that some poor Filipinos can’t afford in real life.

Low-income earners can only eat chicken bones with bits of meat left. This kind of food from organic waste is called in Tagalog “Pagpag”.

Even if it is not hygienic and dangerous to health, it’s the only way to survive for many poor people in the slums of the Philippines.

Some people from the West are praising this as some sort of Filipino tenacity, wishing them luck. These are probably also the same people who would also praise the slum economies of India. Where there are people look for gold dust from the sewage water coming out from the residence of goldsmiths. They called that entrepreneurship, and zero waste economy.

But these people would also readily believe that North Koreans and mainland Chinese eat rats because their "big bad communist regime" cannot provide food for their people.

In our English-speaking media today, poverty in a communist country is a crime of the regime. But poverty in a democracy is just a fact of life.

The fate of American bootlickers. As the living standard in America itself keeps declining, so too it does in its already disgusting and slimy colonies, into new depths of depravity.

Something about this is terribly disgusting, maybe the fact that people eat this. Not even being in the same room as rotting human limbs gave me that much gag reaction.

I'm afraid you do not understand their rule of international order works. They already have greater influence by hanging the fruit in front of the Turks. What they do not want is more Turks and refugees from Turkey to the Schengen area.
The EU asked the Turks to widen the "democratic" appeal of Turkish elections and soften up the conditions of the Kurds for the Turkish acession to happen. So, after decades of governments picked by the secular military, you got a muslim oriented government with Erdogan. Yes, the EU are the ones responsible for Erdogan being in power in the first place. The Turks basically met all their requirements. Except they still won't allow them to join. The reason they are not allowed in is kind of simple. With a population of 85 million they would have more voters than a country like Germany. Which would mean the French and Germans would lose their hold over the EU. No one wants the Turks to be in control. Simple as that.

Taiwan's pro-reunification Labor Party on Thursday condemned the island's Democratic Progressive Party authorities for allowing a proposed expansion of the American Institute in Taiwan's office compound in Taipei.
The AIT is reportedly planning to expand its facilities, including taking over nearby school land, for additional office and warehouse space, a move the institute said was meant to reinforce the U.S.' "rock-solid commitment to Taiwan".
If the expansion goes ahead, the AIT's new premises will exceed the size of the United Nations Headquarters and surpass the area occupied by the U.S. Embassy in China, according to the Labor Party.
It strongly criticized the expansion plan in a statement, questioning why the AIT insists on expansion when the existing facilities already exceed the actual needs of its 600-strong staff.
It also raised concerns that the AIT might be planning to add helicopter pads and station more U.S. troops to evacuate U.S. citizens and DPP military and government officials in the event of a conflict to avoid a repeat of the scramble to evacuate the U.S. Embassy in the city then known as Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War.

The party denounced disparities in land use in Taiwan, comparing the low rent for AIT premises with the struggle Taiwan's youth face in finding affordable housing and DPP government claims that there is a lack of public land for additional social housing.
It added that the fact that the AIT is seeking to expand onto school land is an encroachment on the island's education resources, and questioned why the DPP's high-ranking officials are allowing the expansion to happen.
The party called for unity among the Taiwan people, firm support for their demands and resistance from residents.

I am more than aware of this having lived in that country for over a decade. Which is why it annoys me to no end how people from that country and their western supporters are beyond irritating pushing that country as a credible threat against China or even an actual help with respect to the potential conflict either for Taiwan and the disputed Islands in SCS.

The Philippines need a lot of investments in it's physical and digital infrastructures which are sorely lacking. But most of the people there place their hopes for a better future and tomorrow under the stewardship of America (thinking that'll provide the Philippines guaranteed economic vitality) going abroad in countries that accepts immigrants and having the ability to bring their families with them for settlement. If those endeavors fail they resort to their bread and butter which they are known for which is singing, dancing, and being a celebrity. And if those attempts fail, there's POLITICAL OFFICE as @BoraTas rightly pointed out Kakistocracy.

And that's why these countries like the Philippines will stay poor for accepting MEDIOCRITY as par for the course of their lives and political system. But has the arrogance of an elite when criticizing China as if the Philippines is fit to even lick the shoes of China.

Western democracy does this to the mental faculties of the world. It's sad and makes you angry at the same time.
